6.17 & 6.18 THE END

I can't believe it's over. I just watched it for the second time. I feel like the world has gone on to the next thing, like at the end of "The Truman Show" but I'm still sitting here sad, touched and content with Lost ending.

I can't even begin to know where to start. There are so many little nuances that I want to touch on and I don't want to forget to say anything in my last post.

The finale was beautiful. This was the perfect ending to the best show to ever air on television. I remember when I first started watching Lost. In reruns here in Egypt when they were in season 2 in the US. One thing that I remember sticking out was how amazing and epic the pilot was. The continuity on Lost impressed me when Jin had half a handcuff on his wrist for an entire season. It only got more detailed and they made me love these characters, cry with them, laugh with them but most of all made me think. I've never felt this way about any show or movie and I doubt I will again. Lost was history making and will go down as one of the top shows of all time.

Now, thoughts on the final episode. I was so glad to see Vincent, Rose and Bernard were ok and for that matter, Frank and Richard lived on as well. I loved Jack's "it's a surprise" I don't know how he knew that pulling that stone out would make NotLocke mortal or why Jacob never did it. Maybe he couldn't or wouldn't kill his own brother after what he did to him.

I had to laugh when Kate jumped the gun, no pun intended and started shooting at NotLocke. Desmond and Ben drop to the ground! Glad she did save that bullet though. The fight scene between Jack and NotLocke was awesome and I'm not a big fight scene type of person. Jack leaping through the air at Smokey was really cool.

Glad Desmond made it out of the light cave thing alive and that Hurley, the new, new Jacob, was set on getting him home. Mathew Fox's performance when the light came back on was so great. I was cry-laughing with him. Hurley asking Ben to be his helper was really touching. All Ben ever wanted was some leadership on the island.

I wanted to tell Miles that I too believe in the power of duct tape. It's just so handy when repairing airliner hydrolics. I was lollers when Claire was like "look at me I'm crayyyzeee"

In the Sideways, I kinda thought David would be playing at this concert thing but I guess it was just Faraday/Whidmore and DriveShaft. I was also "grinning like a sodding idiot" when Hurley couldn't contain his Charlie love at the motel door!

When Juliet was the obgyn I was sure she was David's mother. But that was before I found out David doesn't really exist. Anyway, Sun and Jin remembering was so emotional. All of the realizations everyone had were so wonderfully done. When Claire had Aaron and Kate remembered I was blubbering about the revelation and the birth at once. When Kate said "Thank You" to Charlie and he goes "It's just a blanket" I felt she was thanking him for his sacrifice on the island. It was poetic. James and Juliet got me too. It answers what "it worked" and going dutch were all about. James repeating "I got you" was so sweet after how he lost her. Now I was never a big fan of Sayid and Shannon but that was a twist since we all expected it to be Nadia.

Jack seemed to have had a few flashes that he kind of brush off, when seeing John healed and when meeting Kate at the concert. The culmination all coming to an end at the church when Christian explains to Jack and all of us what's happened was like time stood still in my world. I sat there, mouth agape, staring and realizing that the Sideways was a sort of waiting place, unbound by time, space and from Jack's point of view to help him let go. It was a great sort of reunion moment coinciding with Jack's death on the Island. Passing the sneaker that was there after the crash, lying in the bamboo, Vincent by his side and the beautiful symmetrical ending with Jack's eye closing and with it Lost ending forever.

I will miss this show so much. The characters mostly and how they all found redemption and love. Lost will live forever though. There are still many things to be debated and that are left open to interpretation. It was like no other show and It will be hard to ever match such an outstanding team of writers, producers, and actors again. Not to mention the amazing musical score which has been playing in my head all day. Long Live Lost!

6.16 What They Died For

I can't believe in less than a week it'll be all over. This episode set up the series finale up really well. I loved the Island and the sideways stuff.

Jack got that same little cut on his neck that he had in LA X. He and David are so buddy buddy now. I suppose Claire will go to the concert as well. I'll bet David's mother is Juliet. Miles will convince Sawyer to go and she'll ask James to coffee! I wonder if/how Jin/Sun and John will go? I can't wait! It's a little bitter sweet but exciting!

Kate made me well up when she talked about Ji Yeon. Sawyer really looked like he felt horrible about the deaths. When young Jacob came to Hurley about the ashes, I didn't get why he was young then old, then everyone could see him. Hmm. Anyway, I thought Jacob's explanation
didn't really explain what the light or the heart of the island is or does. It was kind of a given that Jack would be the one. I don't know if he will or can kill NotLocke and what Desmond will do. I hate when people on the show call him Locke. It's not Locke, its NotLocke! So Kate was crossed of because she became a mother, but its just a line of chalk in a cave. So I guess Jin was the the candidate then.

Ben getting pummeled by Desmond again was a little funny. Locke changing his mind made me happy. I love that eye twinkly smile he has and I hope he walks! Ben and Russau was a nice twist! Even a kidnapping joke! Ben tearing up over being a father figure to Alex. It's all coming together!

I loved Desmond pulling strings in the alternate reality! Kate seemed a little too smiley in that van though. Ana Lucia as a dirty cop, figures. Seems Hurley has full memory of the island. It seems Kate should shut up and get in the car because a dress and a concert's gotta be better than county jail.

Is Richard dead? I hope not. Hopefully Smokey was just getting him out of his way? That's no way for such a major character to go.

So Ben's back on the dark side? Or is he conning NotLocke? He promised him that he could have the Island then he told him that he's planning to destroy it. So why would Ben help him now?

Bye Zoe, we won't miss you. I'll miss Widmores voice/accent but that's about it.

Who let Des out of the well? Did Sayid give him a rope? But he said that Des was in the well. Maybe it was Miles? or Claire. Where's she been? Left behind again? Jack and them were still at the river I think. Will the walkie talkies have a role?

Funny lines :
  • Miles: "Is this a secreter room?"
  • Sawyer:"You thought that guy had a God complex before.."
  • Miles: "Good luck with that!"
Well It's 5 days away and I'm sure I'll post the last post a little late. 2 and a half hours, well probably 2 without commercials but YAY! Till then!

6.15 Across The Sea

I wasn't crazy about most of this episode but I love Lost so I'll take what I can get. I had to laugh at "Every question I answer will simply lead to another question." The episode was very vague, they didn't tell us how she got there or who those other people were or how Jacob and MIB came to play the game of free will vs evil.

We still have no name for MIB. He must have one. I came away feeling bad for him, even if he killed his "mom". We know that they are twin brothers.(Melissa, you were right!) We found out how Smokey came along and who Adam and Eve were. We also found out when and how the donkey wheel got there but not how it got frozen. I wonder why MIB didn't leave via that, later. The actors who played Jacob and MIB looked a lot like Mark Pellegrino and Titus Welliver, and that kid who was looking at MIB in past episodes was definitely young Jacob. The woman who played Claudia, their real mother was gorgeous. I guess MIB can see dead people, he's special. That's why he was weirded out when Sawyer could see young Jacob.

There's not a lot more to talk about because I feel like not that much else happened. We got some big, long awaited answers though.

6.14 The Candidate

Wow. This episode was incredible. I don't think I've cried so much at Lost since Charlie died. It was really sad but also really well acted and kept us on the edge of our seats. The last 15 minutes I had my hand over my mouth or sobbing.

So when Lock didn't want the surgery I thought he just didn't believe it would work. I love him and Helen. Jack waking up in that outrigger and Sayid saying "at least you didn't have to paddle" was funny. Widmore putting them in the cages seems like it was for their own good after all.

Bernard definitely seems like he's seen the other reality. The way he kept smiling and calling him "Jack" not Dr. Shepard. How he told him his first name, and how he remembered Anthony Cooper so well. I missed Bernard. I wonder if they'll ever address the retired Island Rose & Bernard.

Jack kept saying that he wasn't leaving the Island. I feel like he might be the new Jacob. So glad Smokey killed Dough boy a.k.a. Chip from Kate & Ally.

In the place where Anthony Cooper lived, the intercom called ext. 23. They always have to use the numbers. I don't know why I felt a little bad for him. He was obviously still the jerk he was before but he just never got a chance to royally screw John over. James has been looking for him and he's right there in LA.

I loved how NotLocke is bulletproof and walks right to the plane and breaks the guy's neck and shoots the other one. He had this all planned and knew the C-4 was on the plane because he took the watch off that guy before going up those bamboo steps and walking right to where it was.

Sayid tells them that the guy's neck is broken and if anyone knows broken necks it's Sayid.

When Sawyer told Jack to get NotLocke in the water, Jack said, you saw what he did back there. I think it means that Locke can't turn into the smoke monster when wet.

John was having a bleed through reality dream. Claire didn't sit or get up like a pregnant woman at all. The catch a falling star music box was to maybe jog her memory of him singing it to her as a baby. It was cute when Jack said, "we're not strangers, we're family". The flight 815 weirdness must have him really freaked by now!

When they were all huddled by the sub, NotLocke let Saywer call the shots and they played right into his hands. I did love Jack pushing NotLocke into the water in John's name.

I was shocked when Kate was shot and I thought she was gone but, nope. Claire just wouldn't listen to anyone calling her on to the sub and then she cries "they're leaving us!" Left behind again.

Jack was right about the bomb this time but Sawyer couldn't trust him again after last time. If they just let it run out it wouldn't have blown up just like the dynamite didn't with Richard.

Sayid's heroic noble death totally redeems him. It was really sad but he went out like the badass that he is. I loved "It's going to be you, Jack" So confirmation that Des is alive and very important.

Frank's a goner too. "Aw, Hell" Another poignant line was Jack's frantic "There is no Sayid!"

The rest was just so sad and I was watching through tears since Sayid died. A lot of people are saying why didn't Sun tell Jin to go and raise their daughter. First of all I think it was unspoken when she told him "You have to go". They didn't have to say it, or maybe it was too hard to even say the words. I don't think Jin could physically bring himself to leave her. Plus he probably didn't think he had a good chance of getting out in time anyway. There was no more oxygen and no guarantee that he'd live to get off the island and see Ji Yeon at all. This scene was just heartbreaking.

In the alt. reality, John didn't look to happy to see Jack and wanted out of there. The fact that he caused his father's vegetative state is sad but he doesn't know what old Anthony had planned for him. There was a moment of recognition when Jack said "I wished you believed me"

If I wasn't crying enough Hurley sobbing killed me. Jack's too. It was like they all were not only crying for the one's who died but about everything that's happened.

John seems like he knew they weren't all dead as if he knew that if they were, something would happen with him. Like he'd be suddenly free or something. I wonder if he's going after Desmond or Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley.

I really thought this episode was the best all season. It was gripping and exciting and yes, sad but this is it, guys. It's almost over.

6.13 The Last Recruit

-----------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------

I really like the feel of this episode. It felt very season finale-ish. The end is near!

When Locke told Jack he "looked like" Christian I'm not sure I believed him. I don't know it's the Christian telling Micheal on the freighter that he was free now that's confusing me. The Jack/Claire "we're brother and sister" thing was a little awkward but I suppose it would be. How did Claire know Jack was her brother? See she said to Jin that she'd been with her father and her friend(Locke) so what gives?

Flash Sideways Sun totally recognized Locke as NotLocke as kind of a bleed through. She seemed afraid of him so it wasn't John she'd remembered. I really like alternate Ben. Seems very nice. I knew Jack would end up fixing John, and I'm gonna say he's probably going to really fix him. He'll walk again, I predict.

Sideways Desmond is coming off as a bit of a creeper. Stalking Claire like that. She didn't think that was weird. It's very Jacob like though. Zuleikha Robinson cleans up nice. I still want to know why Elana was bandaged up.

Sawyer and Kate with the matching leather jackets were cute, they're definitely not true loves. She did look great in that scene though.

Sayid. Sayid, Sayid, Sayid. I felt so bad for him and his zombie self this episode. I don't think he killed Desmond. They'd show that. There's hope for Sayid yet. Did you see that look he gave NotLocke after he told him he did kill him? He's got a plan and he took so long because he got Des out of the well.

I'm really sick of Zoe. What we're capable of? Has she seen smokey in action?! When Hurley asked Sawyer who that was I half expected him to say "Liz Lemon".

Claire is still very odd and I hope she can be redeemed. Maybe when NotLocke is killed, hopefully by Sayid or Desmond, all of his followers revert back to themselves. I really kind of felt bad for Claire when they left her but she needs to remember they didn't abandon her! I thought she was gonna kill Kate but she seemed to calm down.

I knew Widmore would renig. He's not that nice. Sawyer didn't deliver on his end of the bargain anyway, plus now Charles doesn't have Desmond, but really he should have kept a better eye on him!

Sun and Jin!!! I'm sure everyone, as did I, thought they'd get fried by the pylons a la Mikhail. It kind of ruined the moment but not much. I love those two and I'm glad they didn't keep that reunion till the finale, it's gonna be too busy.

I'm glad Sun and her baby are ok int Alt. universe too. Sayid fell for that old Tom & Jerry, trip on hose trick.

Now when that explosion went off and Jack was all messed up, I got the feeling that he'd died and Smokey "claimed" him just then. Just like I think Claire did in New Otherton and Sayid did. That's why NotLocke said "You're with me now", ever so creepily.

What's up with Richard, Ben and Miles?

Funny lines, Hurley to Claire "You look...Great." "That pilot who looks like he walked off a Burt Reynolds movie"

No Lost next week. :(

6.12 Everybody Loves Hugo

----------------------------------------

----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

I really liked this episode, but Hurley-centric eps are always good. I loved the Man of The Year video! And Pierre Chang! Hugo's mom is always funny.

I wasn't at all expecting to see Harold Perrineu, I don't look at the credits or anything to make sure I'm not spoiled. It was good to see Micheal but I kinda thought the whispers reveal was a given.

Loved Hurley and Libby, they're so sweet together.

Desmond hitting Locke, now was that him pulling a Charlie, trying to get him to see the other side or was it revenge because he was aware of his alternate self, and he'd thought it was Locke who pushed him down a well?

Elana going boom was kinda funny, sorry, Elana, she kept throwing those water bottles onto the unstable dynamite and well, yea, I guess the Island was done with her, as Ben said.

I kinda hated that Miles went with Richard. I like Richard but Miles, man, where's the loyalty? Jack's been down right likable this season. He's learned humility and I think it was good that they addressed Jack's guilt about Juliet.

I thought the way NotLocke reacted to the island boy, (who by the way, did he look older this time? And what was with that smile?) was interesting. He seemed a little afraid of him. He also didn't like how not scared Desmond was.

He can't die, man, How's he gonna get out of that well? Christian? Jacob?

I think it was cool and brave of Hurley blowing up the Black Rock and saying they should go face NotLocke, but I hate that they all keep calling him Locke. Giving John Locke a bad name! NotLocke and Jack exchanged a weird look, I think it's the first time he's seen him and damn, Sun just misses Jin. Will Jack tell Claire they're related? I miss the real Sayid! At least Jack got the info from Dogen that those two aren't the same.

What was in that little bag of Elana's that Hurley found? Was it Jacob's ashes? What is he gonna do with them?

6.11 Happily Ever After

What the hell just happened? I'll tell you what. Television history. Man, I'm gonna miss this show.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking that being close to death lets you see into the other timeline. Just before Juliet kicked it, she said "Let's meet for coffee", Charlie saw Claire when he almost choked to death.

It's Minkowski ! Your super helpful driver! Minus the nose bleeds. He seemed...weird, like he knew something. It's always the driver. Like with Locke & Abadon.

When Charlie put his hand up to Des in the window, under water, I got chills.

In what universe am I rooting for Widmore agains "Locke" and Sayid?! I liked his approval, nay, love of Desmond in the alt. time line. By the way the painting in his room...A scale with black and white stones.

I don't like Zoe.

Daniel's epiphany was enthralling. I missed him! I love how seeing Charlotte was like his link. Maybe like a constant.

Eloise and her old lady afro freak  me out. She knows about the alternate universe, it's like she had part in designing it. "You have a perfect life, everything you ever wanted" (paraphrasing). It really feels like we made a lot of headway in this episode.

So what's Des going to do with the manifest? Find Claire for Charlie? Show the other Lostees the light? How will he know which ones? Or that the flight has to do with it?

What is it about Desmond & Penny that is just so magical? I love their story. I hope he doesn't faint again and miss their coffee meeting. Maybe Sawyer will meet Juliet for some too? It also looks like a lot of them are at the same hospital. Claire, Sayid, Sun will be going...Time will tell.

I don't think Desmond is really going to go along with Sayid. He knew he had to do what Whidmore needed him to do.

6.10 The Package

Episode 10 did not disappoint, I thought there was suspense, humor and some reveals and tied some things together.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love a Jin/Sun episode and this one was no different. I was a little sad when it was revealed that they were not married in the alternate reality/time line. I guess her jerk of a dad wasn't having it. How cold is that? Sending him to deliver the money to pay off the guy who's going to kill him? Also, closing Sun's account. Cold, man.

Poor Sayid, man, he doesn't feel anything and seems not to know why. NotLocke and Sawyer's little exchange did address the issue of why he doesn't just smoke on over the water.  Sawyer's "oh yeah, because that would be ridiculous"  was funny! I was so worried for Sun when he was chasing her. I mean he didn't take her by force when she hit her head but he was chasing her the whole way. Free will and all that?

Claire was worried about Aaron knowing Kate as his mom and not her, when NotLocke said "Whatever happens happens" She had this look on her face like, hmmmm Ima kill'er! Yea, right after you get some shampoo K?

I loved seeing Mikhael again. I don't know why I always liked him. He had 2 eyes there for a while till Jin shot one out.  We got to see how that whole restaurant fridge thing played out and that Sun is pregnant.

I knew Desmond was "The Package", it was so obvious. Still good seeing him though. I loved the exchange of looks between him and Sayid. I wonder if Zombie Sayid knows or still recognizes him. I'd suppose so. I hope he comes out of this somehow though.

Widmore is looking for the pockets of energy, I wonder what for. What's he brought Des there to do? He seems to be against smokey/NotLocke just like the Jacob followers are. Also, he seemed to be the good guy here. When Jin saw pictures of Ji Yeon, I cried, it was so sweet and she was so adorable! I was hoping for a Sun/Jin reunion this week I guess it would be too predictable.

Sun losing her English was a weird twist. Jack was like his season one counselor self in that little fire-side chat. Nice to see him smile though.

A couple of other Lol moments were the pretend cocoa and Frank's reply to Mile's bacon grease comment. I thought Lapedis was going to defend Hurley but he was just "Don't talk about bacon". Heh.

I like how they bring back people in the alt time line. I really hope they bring back Faraday somehow. He  was cool. Whispered everything. But cool.

How many episodes left? 7? It's really getting down to the wire now. It's clear that NotLocke needs all the candidates on the plane with him to leave and that everyone else has to stop him. How does Mrs. Hawking fit in this season?

I saw  Richard in a whole new light this week. I felt for Sun and how she just wanted to find her husband and not save the world or be a Candidate. That tomato looked delicious though.

6.9 Ab Aeterno

This one is right up there in the top 5 Lost episodes ever! I was grinning most of the time thinking, I love this! The rest of the time I felt bad for poor Ricardo and all that he went through.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nestor Carbonell was so amazing. He never really got a chance to show his chops but he made this episode. I loved it! Ricardo & Isabella are the best love story on Lost since Desmond & Penny.

On the beach, snarky Ben was back. No one asked what replacing Jacob meant? I loved that little chuckle Richard gave when they all turned to him for what to do next.

I want to know why Elana is bandaged up. Jacob is such a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an inigma. I'm glad he's more chill now. When he saw Richard with the dagger he went a little overboard with the hitting. But maybe that was part of the proving he's alive thing.

Richard could NOT catch a break. First his wife is sick and the doctor's a jerk and he accidentally kills him, he gets sent to be hung and I thought the priest that saw Richard in prison was kind of ummm....Harsh? Then when he gets on the Island he's chained for days unable to reach the water and when he finally gets the nail free a stupid boar knocks it out of his reach. I'm gonna say that was his penance. The smokey scene was pretty cool, though. I want that sound bite, the smokey sounds. Maybe a ring tone. I don't know why.

I thought this episode was full of answers. We learned what was suspected is true, that Richard was a slave/prisoner on the Black Rock. We also found out how the statue broke and how the Black Rock got on the Island. We also got a lot about the dynamic between Man in Black and Jacob. Very sneaky that Man in Black, he had me going there for a bit. Interesting that the instructions Man in Black gave Richard about how to kill Jacob were the same as the instructions Dogen gave Sayid to kill Man in Black/NotLocke. So this is the only way to kill either? Ben killed Jacob but with a different knife. Ponder worthy. I love how they are sworn enemies and still come and say good morning and stuff, heh.

I loved the wine bottle/cork analogy and lots of people are saying that when the island sunk, it's like the cork was removed? I'm not sure how that theory fits in with the sideways reality, but it's interesting. The way Jacob described why he brings people to the island, to prove Man in Black wrong, seemed pretty cavalier. I mean this is supposed to be the good guy. He brings people to suffer and mostly die on the island. Man, I can't wait to see how this ends. Two months!

Hurley using his powers to save the day once again. That very Ghost like scene with Isabella was touching. I hope Richard goes back now and tells them what to do.

I'm gonna reiterate what Jay & Jack said this week. People need to just watch the show for what it is. Not have such high expectations for tons of answers every episode and nit picking about little things. You're going to ruin your Lost experience. Just enjoy and go with the flow.

6.8 Recon

So, I enjoyed this episode. Not as much as last week's but I felt like they were laying the foundation for what's to come.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sawyer as a cop was unexpected. A little fake out with the con-man act there. They had me going. When they revealed that James was a police officer, I wondered why he helped Kate escape in the airport elevator. I suppose maybe he's only in the job to find Anthony Cooper and didn't care about it and also he'd kept his trip to Sydney a secret so maybe he didn't want to call attention to himself.

His calling all the Anthony Coopers was pretty sad to me. Miles knew he was lying all along. They had quite the bromance going on there. I was glad to hear that Miles' and his dad were on good terms, when he mentioned him.

On the island I was glad to hear Sawyer say he wouldn't leave without Sun and he also asked about Miles Jack and Hurley later on. It shows he does care about them, even if earlier he said the Others could do what they wanted with them.

I was kind of rooting for Claire to kill Kate and it was funny when Sayid just sat there. Funny but sad. Is this what his character has been reduced to? I want the old Sayid back, man. Locke throwing Claire like that and that slap, woah. He was like go sit over there! It was weird.

Charlotte sure cleans up nice. I knew the date would be someone we know, I just hoped it would be Juliet but the museum job makes more sense for Charlotte of course. I think she was wrong to be snooping around in his stuff. Yea he kind of over reacted but you don't just go looking in someone's stuff like that. Just take a T shirt and be done with it.

Back on the island, I didn't get NotLocke's whole crazy mom shpeal. I mean I get that yea Claire is crazy now but I didnt' understand what he meant by growing pains etc. He just wanted to get Kate on his side, I believe.

In the alternate time-line, I loved the part with James watching Little House on the Prairie! It was a nice call back to a scene back in season 3, Tricia Tanaka is Dead. Kate says something about a clean slate and he goes slate? like on Little House? and she teases him for being a fan and he said he had mono and was home for a long time and the tv only showed one channel. Don't make excuses man Little House was great!

So, Charlotte tells him he blew it and then he makes up with Miles and tells him about what happened to his parents and why he joined the police academy. Tortured soul, that James Ford. When the car hitting- fugitive was Kate, that was no surprise, I mean come on.

Back on the island again, I thought the part where he sees the cages and clutches Kate's dress was lame. I don't' get it. Did he forget about Juliet that fast? I knew Zoe was lying from the beginning. I bet Widmore's got Desmond in that Locked room! So Sawyer is playing both sides and just wants to get out of there, hopefully with all the Lostees, even if he said "you and me" to kate about getting of the Island. How are they gonna run a sub? Maybe they'll just force the operator to take them? We'll see I suppose but that wasn't the shocking ending, that we are accustomed to.

I wont say who I heard next week's episode is about, just in case someone doesn't want to know, but I can't wait!

6.7 Dr. Linus

I thought this was an excellent episode, the best since LA X. There were a lot of reveals, well more confirmations of things Lost fans have suspected. Good episodes always go by quick.

I was starting to think the character of Benjamin Linus had fallen flat, but it seems he's being redeemed and made the right choices in both universes/time-lines.

Side-flash Ben was a good teacher that cared about his students and school. Loved seeing substitute Locke giving Ben ideas. I also like how Ben still had Alex in his life and chose her over power. They faked us out there for a second when he walked into the office. I think he could have still blackmailed the principal but for story's sake, I'll just believe it had to be a choice.

It was good seeing wrinkly Roger and how Ben was caring for him. Giving him oxygen instead of poison gas. It seemed like Roger and Ben had a good relationship in this time line and gasped when Roger said they did go to the Island. I wonder why/when they left.

Glad Richard made an appearance and I felt badly for his desperation. Jack was totally man of faith in the scene with the dynamite. Hurley was lolz "If you change your mind, I'll be like, a mile away". Richard all but flat out said that he came to the island on The Black Rock.

I love Miles' character. His "UhOh" when Elana said that Jacob was the closest thing to a father to her was pure snark! And the fact that they used Miles' power to bring back Nikki and Paulo and the diamonds was so satisfying!

Elana said there were 6 candidates left, Shepard, Reyes, Ford, Jarrah, and Kwon. Now Either Kwon is both Jin and Sun or Kate is still a candidate or someone else. Maybe Desmond? Maybe Frank? Elana did mention he could be one last season, and now they reiterated how he was destined to come to the island.

Richard revealed that being touched by Jacob makes you a candidate and candidates can't kill themselves. This was a light bulb moment for me. Micheal was once a candidate (Dawson was seen on the cave ceiling and crossed off) and the Island wouldn't let him kill himself till it was done with him on the freighter. Jack once almost jumped off a bridge and then was distracted by an accident. Even Locke wasn't able to hang himself. I love when Lost drops a little bit of info that sheds light on so much stuff that happened before.

We learned that NotLocke has taken his group to the Hydra and that he seems to be telling everyone what they want to hear. He just said to Sawyer a few episodes ago that it's just an Island, and it doesn't need protecting. And here he is telling Ben that he's the new Island protector.

Ben's scene with Elana was heartbreaking. How Micheal Emerson manages to play a weaselly murdering mastermind and still tug at your heartstrings is beyond me. I cried when he said "No one else will have me" and his look of utter disbelief when Elana replied "I'll have you". Again, a parallel to the sideways universe, Ben making the right choice. I felt bad for him being all left out on the beach.

The little reunion scene was like old times and garnered a few tears from me. I thought Ben and Richard might at least shake hands. They were left out. They need to give Sun a few lines besides "I need to find my husband" already.

The sub with Widmore wasn't a surprise for me. That's the last time I listen to Jay and Jack's "Next on Lost" segment. I'll also avoid looking at the credits in the beginning.

6.6 Sundown

I never watch previews so I had no idea this was a Sayid episode but I was glad. I've always liked Sayid. Level headed, and kickass Sayid. This new Dark Side Sayid is scary but Naveen Andrews is playing it well.

It was a shocker that Sayid was not married to Nadia, but his brother was. Omar seems to kind of know that Sayid cares about Nadia too. She's really beautiful by the way, great smile. I guess the kids know now too. oops.

The fight scene between Sayid and Dogen was pretty cool , seemed really long too. When Dogen first went for Sayid, Sayid came back like..Oh, you don't know about me!. I guess Dogen realized he can't kill him and just told him to leave. Miles got some screen time today. 2 hours huh? Wow, so at least we know that part. The hot tub didn't do anything, except drown him, so it's definitely broken.

Claire does mention Jin and Sawyer so we know they are still ok but where? Dogen changing his mind again about Sayid was weird but I thought they already knew Jacob was dead. I suppose Sayid wanted to prove he has good in him.

Kate really didn't see that Claire was a bit on the cuckoo side? She should have told her that he is safe. Claire probably wouldn't believe that he was with her mother because for all she knows, she's still in a coma. But Kate doesn't know that, I think. Claire had a killer look on her face when she heard Kate say she'd taken Aaron but then it kind of went away later.

NotLock did speak before Sayid stabbed him. He said Hello Sayid. I wonder if Dogen's instructions were literal or he meant kill him before he convinces you to join him. So Jacob can be stabbed and killed but NotLocke just goes "Now why'd you go and do that?" Ha, that was good. Now when Sayid said the only thing he ever wanted died in his arms did he mean Nadia or Shannon? This is where Sayid goes to the Dark side and his heart is blackened by the evil inside him. I hate that he's evil now really. Unless he's faking it. I dunno would he fake it and kill Dogen and Lennon? The look on his face was scary.

In the flash sideways/alternate life/whatever, we see Jack pass Sayid and look right at him in the hospital. Also the guy who went and got Sayid and spoke bad Arabic, wasn't that the other Omar from the freighter? I loved the scene with Keamy. I knew the big guy was gonna be someone we know but Keamy was unexpected. I kind of felt like he was channeling Christopher Walken there. He's got some chompers too. Sayid was his bad self as usual and Keamy got his comeuppance. Now Jin in the fridge was the most perplexing part. Was Keamy the guy he was supposed to deliver the watch to? Why was he tied up?

It was good seeing Sun and Frank even for a second and at least Sun knows Jin is alive,"last I saw of him, yea." I need them to reunite and soon. Elana really seems to know a lot but has no time to tell anyone anything. Ben going back for Sayid was oddly caring but I loved his look of sheer terror at Sayid's crazy evil eyes. Did Ben make it back in time to get in to the secret door?

So when Dogen is dead and Smokey goes all crazy in the temple, I hate when everyone splits up! Kate is now stuck with the evil people. Not that I care but I feel like it has some meaning. John gave her a look when he saw her. This ending was creepy and dark. I can't wait to see what happens next. Where Jack and Hurley are. Where is NotLocke taking everyone?

6.5 Lighthouse

I liked this episode. As I said before, season 6 Jack is more likable to me. A lot of shout outs to season 1 in this episode.

His alternate universe son looks just like him but I'm dying to know who the mom is. Maybe Juliet? That would be interesting. More daddy issues passed down of course, but it was weird seeing Dogen at the audition.

Wild Claire is definitely infected if infected means ca-ray-zee. So she knows "her friend" isn't John. I want to know how much does she know. And why is she all "WHERE'S MY BAYBEEE" when she walked away from him and her dad said that Aaron was where he's supposed to be and she was all fine in the cabin. I'm not the biggest Kate fan but she should be thanking her for taking her kid in, not killing her.

Hugo rocked this episode, once again. I loved the part with "cause I'm a fan of history and Indiana Jones' stuff" Also when he told Dogen he was a candidate, and why doesn't HE go to the courtyard? I loved that part!

So who is coming to the island? Is it Desmond? Ellie? Whidmore? I hope it's Des!

I really wish Jack looked at who was at 108! Maybe it's Hume? I wanted to play around with that before he smashed it. I guess we know now that they've been watching them for all this time, for sure. I think his frustration/mirror breaking is how a lot of fans feel about getting answers as well.

Jin's leg looked OUCH but Is he smart enough to out wit Claire and NotLocke? Plus where's Sawyer now, doing what?

So is everyone at the temple doomed now or what? Why is everyone staring at Sayid? What will happen to him and Miles?

This was a Jack-centric episode but Hurley was the star for me.

6.4 The Substitute

I finally got to watch this episode today. I love a Locke episode. In this case, a Locke/NotLocke episode. A lot more of the "chance" encounters of our Lostees off Island in the alternate universe.

I thought that alternate Locke would be happy and he was in the way that he was with Helen, but his bad luck with the van mechanism and his "douche" boss was in kind with the old Locke. I kind of wish he did call Jack and maybe he will somehow. I love him and Helen together and I hope we get to see them get married.

Hurley the CEO was cool even with the mutton chop sideburns. He's so lucky that Locke's van stops just short of scratching his hummer.

I want John Locke as my substitute teacher. Ben Linus too. I loved that bit. Change the filters, people!

On Island, Richard whose always been calm and in control, was freaking out and terrified. That freaks me out. I wish Sawyer went with him. I liked him trying to help but then running for his life.

Who was the kid? He looked a lot like Jacob to me. Who did he mean by him, when he said, "You know the rules, you can't kill him". Did he mean Sawyer? Richard? Jacob?

Ilana seems to know a lot, yet no one asks her a lot of questions, as usual. I almost cried when they buried John. It was so sad. No one had anything to say except for Ben. "He was a better man than I'll ever be, and I'm sorry I murdered him" I wonder if he meant that. Frank with the one-liners, "Weirdest funeral I've ever been to".

I liked how Sawyer, even drunk, knew it wasn't really Locke. I'd like to think that Sawyer, the slick conman that he is, won't be duped by NotLocke. He's gone for Mr. Ford when he's most vulnerable but I still think he's not that stupid. The whole scene with the ladder/cliff was nerve wracking. I hate scenes like that, make me nervous.

So Jacob had another secret crib in the cliff. I think NotLocke throwing the white rock was symbolic. He feel's he's defeated Jacob. We'll see. So the original List is shown.

4- Locke
8- Reyes
15- Ford
16- Jarrah
23- Shepherd
42- Kwon

The numbers are back in play. Kate Austen isn't on the ceiling? I saw Goodspeed up there!

Now NotLocke gives James 3 choices. It's obvious he wants him to pick # 3.

1) Just do nothing and watch from the sidelines
2) Take over Jacob's job as the Island protector from nothing.
3) Go home with NotLocke. Where's home?!

It seems for now that Sawyer's chosen going home.
I can't wait for more Locke and I really want to see how Desmond plays into all of this. What about Widmore....What was his convo with Sun about? Will we see Daniel again? I hope so, he was great!

I'm so glad I have just one day till the next episode!

6.3 What Kate Does

Wow! The last 15 minutes were the best!

Miles wins best line of the episode with "As you can see Hurley has taken the leadership role, and that's so great" AH, I loved his delivery. Also, "We'll be in the food court if you need us." Miles has few lines, but what lines he has, are great!

Claire is the new Russau!? Who or what is the darkness in Sayid? What the hell is going ON?!

I really really, really can't wait to see Jin and Sun reunite! I loved "Who do you care about" I thought she'd say "Myself", it's probably what she was thinking. But ouch on that trap Jin stepped into. Let's hope Claire has Russau's skills.

Sawyer just broke. My. Heart with that scene at the dock. I've never seen Josh Holloway act so well and I cried like a baby right along with him

Kate on the other hand, should let the body get cold! God, just let him grieve. He said he wanted to be alone. PLEASE don't have him get over Juliet and love Kate all of a sudden.

Dogen(?) is starting to grow on me. I want to trust him. What did he mean, he was brought to the island like everyone else? He's like Mr. Miagi. Tells you to trust him and it's good for you. Plus he knows that Claire is Jack's sister. And is speaking more English. What about Smithers? Er, I mean Lennon. What's his deal?

I want to know why Sayid has to take the darkness killing poison willingly. Does it contain the magic ash? Seeing him be burned was pretty unsettling and I can't wait to find out what the infection is. Does it claim anyone who dies? Did Claire die in the explosion in the barracks and was claimed later? Does this have anything to do with why bodies were important between Dharma and the Others?

I am actually enjoying Jack this season, he's definitely on the road to redemption.

The off Island story seemed to drag but I loved the part where Ethan Goodspeed is Claire's ob and "doesn't want to stick her with needles if he doesn't have to" Ah I love it. Still creepy, Ethan.

You can see how the alternate realities are bleeding into each other. Kate looked at Jack at the airport taxi line with a decided look of recognition. Claire, just knew her son's name was Aaron and it looks like she'll be keeping him. Kate felt a connection too. I'm pretty sure Aaron had that stuffed whale toy in season 5, too.

Once again, well played, show. Well played.

6.1 & 6.2 LA X

Previously, on Lost...we were confused. This just in...we still are but I love it.

This premier was supposed to start answering questions, and there were some answers for sure, but as usual we got more questions.

Terry O'Quinn rocked as usual. He can play deviously evil Black shirt and kind John. He needs another Emmy.

When the episode started with a plane window I was like, wow. So they went with the landing safely in LAX route. It was all creepily familiar and I sensed Jack felt a little de-ja-vu. Except his hair's too long. I guess if he had cut it it wouldn't make sense either.

I love the Rose-Bernard stuff. They are just so adorable! Does Rose have cancer though?

When Jack goes to the airplane bathroom, he looks at himself for a second before noticing the blood. Does he look older? The blood is kind of something that's crossed over from the other reality.

Des! It was great to see Desmond. I don't know if he was there there or time skipping there. But I suppose he wouldnt time skip if he was never on the island or turned the key. He must have just changed seats again later. Jack recognized him but it was more likely from the stadium run than from any alternate reality. Where does this leave Penny?

The cartoony under water island was lols. Was that a Dharma shark? More mystery.

I guess the blast or time jump or whatever happened landed Kate in a tree a la Bernard circa season 1. When her hearing was off I kept trying to fix my speakers. Yay for miles, I like that sarcastic s.o.b.

So they are at the hatch. I was thinking some went back in time and some stayed until they showed everyone in both realities. Josh Holloway played Sawyer's heartbroken/angry pretty well.

So alternate realities. Interesting. We all thought they'd have to go either this way or that, but they did both. Simultaneously. Flash backs then flash forwards and now FLASH PARALELLS! This feels very Sliding Doors.

Hey it's Doc Artz! I hope Sawyer doesn't take advantage of Hurley and his lucky self. It's clear some things in the new alternate reality 815 flight are different.

Back on the Island Sayid's still bleeding to death and Jin's English is really good.

I do wish they would hurry up and help Sayid already. Last season finale they were all arguing while he bled. Couldn't Jack go check on Sayid while the rest of them uncovered Juliet?

Lol at Hurley and the gun. I was so worried he'd accidentily shoot someone but I knew he was no Ana Lucia. Hey, it's my man Jacob.

So Alt reality Jin is back to being a bit of a jerk and I nearly cry when they show John.

BOOOOOOOONEEE! Another thing that changed is Shanon not coming with him. I guess she was busy? When John talked about the walk about and when he was seated in the middle of the regular plane rows, I though hey maybe he's not paralyzed in this reality. No such luck though. I

I suppose he lied to Boone because he wishes it was so. Is there any way he could do a walk about type thing in a wheel chair? Unlikely. I laughed at "pulling my leg" though. Cause of the way Boone died on the island. Also Frogurt!

Black Shirt/Not John cuts a rug, literally in the foot room. Ben looks in total shock. There aren't any remains of Jacob in the fire though. Ben looks to be as confused as I am.

Does no one care about poor bleeding Sayid?? At least Jacob does. Heed his words Hurley, I like that they are using the ghost whisperers here. So Jacob confirms that he's indeed dead.

The VW van comes to the rescue again.

Back on the plane, Dr. Jack is doing a bit of rescue of his own. YAY Charlie! We missed ya.
I wonder why he said "I was supposed to die"? He was obviously trying to smuggle smack and choked on it during turbulence. Hmm.

So Juliet's alive. So It was weird to have them show Juliet just to have her die, again (how many times is this?) but I guess they had to have her there to get her message across.

How long does embalming last? Dead John looks pretty fresh. Richard wants to know what happened and he's losing patience with Ben. I loved when he threw him down to see Locke in the box.

Also, Jin and Sun are in the same time now right?? Right??!!

Back inside the foot, NotJohn is getting down to business when we hear the clicking sounds of none other than Smokey. Smokey kicks ass and doesn't bother to take names. An idiot shoots at the smoke. Bram temporarily protects himself with the ash, but it doesn't work for long. Ben pees himself.

Back at the Swan station site, Juliet is starting to be incoherent. I think in that moment before death she was crossing over into the alternate reality and that's how she knew "It worked".

Juliet dies, why don't they take her to the temple as well? Juliet wasn't touched by a Jacob, remember? I guess it doesn't help that doesn't have a contract.

Back on the plane, I'm wondering where's Claire? What about Libby, Ecko and, heck even Ana Lucia? I hope they have more up their sleeves during the season. I wanted to see Michael and Walt as well but I guess it would be hard since Walt is like 20 now.

Captain Norris ! I'm pretty sure that was Greg Grunberg's voice.

I loved the closing scenes, Sayid looking at Nadia's picture, Jin and the watch, Landing safely and everyone getting off, and the heartbreaking moment when John get's in his wheelchair.

PART 2

They finally start to think about Sayid and Hurley takes charge when Jack isn't able to.
Hurley confirms that it's not a guitar in the guitar case. Sawyer's even more tortured now and isn't following anybody. I doubted that, then.

At the airport: Oceanic screws up or something spooky is going on with Christian Shepard's coffin. Or body. Remember the coffin was on the island, in the wreckage, but not the body.

So they reach the Temple. You would think someone would spakle that hole up. Oooh Montand's skelleton. How do they even know which way to go, its like a maze...a dark one

Who the hell are these people? And why are they dressed so stupid?

So Kate's gonna run. Its what she does best. This Marshall must be the worst marshall ever. I mean Kate's good but she's escaped from him several times!

In the elevator, Sawyer clearly sees she's cuffed and helps her escape. At least we know that he's still the upstanding citizen he's always been.

Island time...

James forces Miles to tell him what Juliet said. It's haunting when he says it!

So Cindy shows up, and so do the kids, back at the temple. Thank you. That always bothered me.

I know there were Others at the Temple but I don't get who this Kung Fu Samurai guy is. Or his lackey.

So we find out what's in the guitar case. A big old Ankh. I first thought it was a kind of key or something but it held the LIST!

I wonder now if Sun learned English in this reality and just isn't saying because she doesn't want to help Jin or be with him? Or does she just not speak it in this reality?

Back to the Temple, their indoor pool looks pretty gross. I wonder if the dark water means Jacob isn't in control? So it's healing water. Ok.

Again, like with Ben, no one asks what risks? Does that mean Sayid will always be an Other? Like Ben?

Watching them heal/drown Sayid was unsettling. Then annouce...You're friend is dead....Ya think?

Jacks got a lot of guilt right now, about Juliet, about Sayid. He's going to redeem himself this season, i know it. But Sayid can not be dead, he just can't.

At the airport, Kate makes a run for it, and OMG CLAIRE!

He doesn't like the way English tastes on his tongue? I don't like this guy but it will be interesting to see how his character develops.

As soon as they find out Jacob is dead so they surround the place with ash to keep blackshirt/smokey out.

Ben wants answers and NotJohn is creepy as ever interesting that his shirt is black/grey
How does NotJohn know all about Real John's life? Locke was NOT the only one who wanted to stay on the island though Walt wanted to. So did Rose and Bernard.

So he wants to go home. Where's home? That last look was pure evil.

Miles was looking at Sayid was like, I can't get a reading on this one!

When Sawyer said he changed his mind about killing Jack, I thought maybe he was thinking about "it worked" He never would have really killed him anyway.

Richard is about to lose his shit when he sees the smoke signal/flare thing. "Nice to see you out of those chains?" At first I thought it meant he was a slave long ago, that could be true but it could also be a metaphor. Since he was under Jacob's rule for so long. NotJohn knocks him out. Was that really necessary?

Sayid is alive??!!! Is he really Sayid though? He could be Jacob? Or Widmore? or any number of people! I just want him to stay Sayid though. And continue his badasskickery.

SUCH a good start to the final season but I worry about they wrapping this up? I don't expect nor do I want everything to be tied up in a pretty bow but there needs to be just one reality, me thinks.

Bravo, show! You continue to amuse and confuse me.

PS. Where's Vincent? Also is Daniel Faraday gonna show up?
